A vast majority of families in the country go on vacation during the summer. School is out, and the kids, as well as the parents, use this time to go out of town, spend some time with family, relax, you name it. Some families take a flight, and others like a nice road trip, in fact, 22% of families go on a road trip. Some road trips have a destination, others are for plain sightseeing and fun. The point is to be in a car with family or friends, and then just drive. If you’re planning a road trip this summer, you need to find the perfect car. A car that can be very comfortable for both the driver and the passengers. A car that is safe, and convenient for your trip ahead. Lucky you, I am sharing a list of the best cars for summer travel!

For The Huge Family: When you’re ready for the family road trip, but your family is over 5 people, it’s going to be complicated to figure out the seating plan and the luggage plan. After figuring out the seating plan, you’re now playing Tetris with your luggage and trunk space. Luckily, there is a solution! The magic of the SUV or a pickup truck. There are more seats and space for your family and your equipment. But what type of SUVs or pickup trucks?

  • Chevrolet Suburban: If you have a big family, then you’ll need 3 rows in a car. This SUV has 3 rows of seats. Each member can have their own space. The good thing with the 3rd-row seating is that you can put the seats down and be able to fit more luggage if space is not an issue for your passengers.
  • Chrysler Pacifica: This car is a minivan. It also has a 3rd row of seats. The cool thing with this car is that the 3rd row can be easily accessible. Since there is a walkway in the middle, your passengers can just walk to and from the seats. The cool thing about the 2nd and 3rd row is that they can fold into the floor to fit more equipment, so even after a vacation, you have a car to carry pretty much anything in a long bed.
  • GMC Sierra: With normal pickup trucks, there is a huge amount of space for camping gear, suitcases, etc. But there isn’t a lot of space for the passengers. That’s where the GMC Sierra comes in. Depending on what year the truck is, it can have up to 6 seats! In my opinion, that’s pretty good space for a pickup truck.
  • Infiniti QX80: A surprisingly luxurious SUV. Under that hood, there is a beautiful amount of V8 horsepower, but beyond that, the SUV has an amazing interior. Plenty of space, some even have TVs, so forget the kids constantly asking “Are we there yet?” The car has incredible space for luggage. For the passengers, it has 7 seats!
For The Big Outdoor Fans: Summer stirs up the sleepy traveler in all of us. Setting up camp underneath the stars, arriving at the highest point on a trail, exploring streams by kayak. It’s all reachable if you have the right vehicle.

  • Jeep Wrangler: A Jeep Wrangler is an SUV that can practically be as strong as a tank! This might be a little exaggeration by me, but the point is, that it can travel very smoothly on rough roads and rocky trails. When driving up on an inclined surface, it can pull through. Heavy rain, rough trails, snow, almost anything. It can hold a capacity of 5 people. Getting to the camp won’t be an issue.
  • Subaru Outback: The Subaru Outback was intended for recreation. The vehicle shows off a noteworthy 8.7 inches of ground freedom, movable rooftop rack rails for kayaks, and capacity canisters.
  • Land Rover Discovery Sport: If you enjoy the feeling of having a luxurious SUV but don’t mind getting it dirty, then the Land Rover Discovery Sport was made just for you. It has 60 cubic feet of cargo space. You can fit a lot of things in that trunk! Feeling the need to be courageous? You’re in luck. The Land Rover can drive up 45-degree inclination surfaces. This car is one of the most recommended whenever you’re going on a camping trip.

For The Long-Distance Road Trip Travelers: There’s nothing like an all-American, cross-country road trip during the summer. It’s been a tradition for Americans ever since the first automobile was invented. When going on a cross-country road trip, you have to have a car with good mileage so you don’t overspend on gas, now with the current gas prices, it may still be high but still within budget compared to other vehicles (or charging stations if you have an electric car). These are cars that have very good mileage.

  • Toyota Prius: This superior hybrid has set a golden standard, obtaining 58 mpg in a city and 53 mpg on a highway. The Toyota Prius is an affordable car that has outstanding mileage. It is very popular and pretty good for a road trip.
  • Kia Niro: If you need extra room, but don’t want to risk fuel economy, then this hybrid subcompact SUV is probably the car for you. It goes up to 49 mpg on a highway. The Kia Niro is absolutely an eco-friendly SUV option in comparison to the other, common inefficient utility vehicles.
  • Mazda 3: The 2016 Mazda 3 isn’t considered a hybrid, but its performance is similar to one. Have fun going up to 30 mpg in the city and 41 mpg on the highway in this vehicle. The Mazda 3 can be available as a sedan or hatchback.

For An Entire Summer: The perfect signs of summer; Cookouts, Fourth of July celebrations, fireworks, or pool days. When you drive up in one of these vehicles, your friends will forget all about these signs.

  • Chevrolet Corvette Z51: A classic American sports car, but remastered! The Z51 has a horsepower of 460 hp and can go up to 184 mph. The sound of it will sound like a race car! While the speed is outstanding, the look is even better. It comes in a total of 12 colors!
  • Dodge Challenger Hellcat: The specs of the Hellcat look like they came out of a sci-fi movie. This vehicle has many great features. It has a horsepower of over 700 hp. The top speed is 199 mph. Over 600 foot-pounds of torque. The surprising thing is that it’s all from the push of a petal. The Hellcat lives up to its name.

All these cars are under different categories. Whether you’re looking for a car to get space or to drive with style, then you find what you like. There are a variety of cars to choose from. But it’s summertime, so enjoy the heat, the fun, the family, and your favorite destination.
